My good friend Damien McCarron, founding member of the Indulgers and Wild Mountain Celts (two favorites of this band photographer) contributes to my blog this go around about an amazing night of Celtic rock and a bit of music history too. His exclusive for this Colorado photographer: Dateline : May 10th, Fado, Denver, Colorado A magical musical evening in Denver with the Indulgers delighting in hosting the band that founded the Irish rock genre in 1970 and recently reformed to wild enthusiasm for shows in Dublin and Belfast. Mici MacGabhann was the author of Rotha Mor an tSaoil, a book that described his life, giving details of past famine years, his school days, his search for work on the farms of east Donegal and Scotland. Later on he describes his travels in America, especially in the Yukon, Alaska. Rossa O Siordain is retracing the experience with hosts Barry Devlin and Jim Lockhart of legendary Irish rock band, The Horslips. The production is to air on Irish television (TG4) in November and December . The Indulgers, Colorado's Irish rock band were invited to participate and perform Horslips songs “Trouble With A Capitol T” and “Rescue Me” with Barry and Jim as they paralleled the modern experience of Irish immigration to the USA.
