“As you well know, putting on a conference is not without its challenges and surprises. There are many things I appreciate about Garrett, in addition to his talent of course, but what is invaluable to me is the fact I don’t have to handhold him it all. Right from the beginning, he has an intuitive knowledge of what needs to be done and when.” — Michele Johnson, President of MCJ Consulting

We’ve found our corporate clients at Photography G typically have a long list of questions regarding what to look for and expect from an event photographer. Some of these questions include:
Client: I see many professionals focus on wedding and portrait photography, but I would prefer someone who considers this type of work their specialty.
The short answer is yes, and Garrett specializes in photography for commercial businesses and organizations. While we offer an array of photography at our Denver studio, Garrett’s main focus centers on corporate photography. Garrett entered the photography field after photographing Rock and Roll legends such as the Allman Brothers and Bruce Springsteen, which helped him cultivate a knack for catching important moments others may miss.
You may consider it more convenient to hire a local photographer, but experience and talent should be more of a deciding factor than location. Reputation should also be taken into consideration, which you can research by reading reviews from other corporate event clients.
The Photography G client list includes businesses, associations and events across the country such as the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM). Garrett has been the preferred photographer for AOSSM for more than ten years at its Annual Meeting—from Seattle, Washington to Orlando, Florida.
“While it may seem counterintuitive to utilize an out-of-town photographer, there are a number of benefits aside from it being cost-effective. When Garrett is at the meeting, he is essentially on duty the entire day and, therefore, easy to incorporate into different functions at short notice.” — Irv Bomberger, Executive Director of AOSSM.
Client: We have some very high- profile members of our association and some ‘celebrity’ speakers and guests. How does Photography G show up in these kinds of situations?
High-profile speakers and guests could be intimidating for some photographers, but Garrett Hacking has vast experience with well-known musical artists, physicians, professional sports players and government officials. Garrett shows up with the highest level of professionalism and knows how to cater to special guests to capture candid moments and group shots.
When show time hits, it is important to have someone who knows the ropes. Garrett hits the ground running and doesn’t require any oversight. With nearly two decades of experience in corporate photography, Garrett knows where and when to be. Many of Photography G’s corporate clients continue to utilize Garrett’s talent and expertise at their events for years to come. Garrett has photographed a wide variety of corporate events such as:
Social media is an important part of any event, and you want your conference to have an impact on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn. To accommodate this need, Garrett is able to identify key photos from your conference shortly after the day has ended, so you can use them across all social media outlets and corporate presentations. Photography G can help you showcase your function quickly.
Client: We want to be able to use the photos as we see fit without having to get permission for each and every use. We may also have proprietary materials we don’t want shared with anyone else.
Ownership of the images from your conference is determined on a case-by-case basis. While a percentage of our business relies on word-of-mouth, Photography G likes to feature some of Garrett’s favorite images from your event on our website. However, we realize there are times when images from your conference may not be appropriate to share, and for this reason, we are flexible on ownership and use of images.
Client: Our conference is large and spread over the course of many days. I anticipate needing more than one photographer on site.
While Garrett is the “G” of Photography G, we also employ second-shooter photographers to cover large events, especially those spanning several days. During your in-person or over-the-phone consultation, Garrett will discuss the specific details of your event and determine how many shooters will be necessary to achieve the coverage you’re looking for.
Garrett’s style of photography is largely photojournalistic. He believes candid moments are the most pivotal when it comes to event photography. The Photography G style is versatile though and adapts to each event. Many of the commercial and corporate events Garrett covers require a variety of photography styles including a keen eye for what to capture during a speech or presentation and the skill for taking large-scale group portraits.
